Abstract
To solve current industrial problems, we need to reconsider the mass-production paradigm and make products have more added value. Consumers want to be satisfied with using products rather than with owning them. We propose that products should be designed with service aspects in mind. However, since traditionally service has been neglected within engineering, we need new methods to define service. To establish ´service engineering,´ in this paper we propose a modeling technique of service. We first examine essential concepts of service. A service is represented by a set of Receiver State Parameters (RSPs), and several RSPs form a scenario.
