Abstract
This paper presents a Fault-Tolerant Control strategy against actuator faults for the velocity tracking control of high-speed trains with distributed driving type. The dynamics of the high-speed trains are modeled by a cascade of carriages which are connected by flexible couplers and are subject to rolling mechanical resistance, and aerodynamic resistance. Beside, this paper provides a new sufficient condition for the solvability of the stabilizing output feedback control problem with actuator failure. The controllers are synthesized by Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMI) in order to ensure the stability of the closed-loop system. It is shown that the proposed method is robust not only to the aerodynamic and mechanical resistance, but also to the actuator failure.
