Abstract :
A simple and cost effective remodulation scheme based on a single two-section RSOA is proposed. In the two-section RSOA, the first section is served as a modulator to upload upstream signal and the second section works as an optical squeezer to effectively erase downstream data. The upstream performance dependence on the structural and operating parameters is investigated. The results show that the output upstream signal quality can be effectively improved by optimizing these parameters.
