Abstract :
Grid computing offers many scientific and commercial benefits, notwithstanding many technical and organizational constraints. In such a scenario, satisfactory service can be provided to end users through software agents. These software agents are recognized as a powerful high level abstraction for developing a complex software system. ABRMAS system has been proposed to enhance the existing agent based hierarchical system by introducing the concept of alternate solution for efficient resource discovery. It increases the success rate of the agent by providing alternate solution. The scope for devising means of cutting delays arising out of prolonged wait for instantly unavailable resources is also examined in this paper. Agents are designed so as to provide an alternate solution even in case of discovery fails for time bound and cost bound task. The collaboration of agents in such a situation helps to solve the resource discovery problem in an efficient manner with other agents.
