Major issues in ecodesign are identifying key environmental aspects of a product, type of environmental information should be provided for the generation of ecodesign ideas and how to evaluate ecodesign ideas. The article presents the development of ecodesign method for electronic products. Environmental benchmarking and checklist methods were used for the environmental assessment of a product. A case study using mobile phone indicates that the proposed method can be applicable to the integration of environmental aspects to the design and development of a product.
