Abstract
A first attempt at interrelating the product aspects used within different functions in product development is shown. The information basis for an industrial case concerning a “go-no go” strategic decision for introducing a new pump design is presented. While one goal is to facilitate collaboration over distance by providing computer based models of the management aspects of product development, the importance is stressed of using the individual views of the product for facilitating understanding of and communication between functions such as marketing and engineering design
