Abstract
This paper addresses several factors necessary to create and manage highly effective global product development teams. Specifically, we examine the emergence of global development teams; their potential benefits; the major challenges these forms of cross-functional teams (CFTs) often face; the major success drivers for global teams; and discuss the impact of global development teams on individuals, functional managers, and senior managers. Several managerial recommendations are made throughout the paper
