Abstract :
In this study the impact of information communications technology (ICT) on lifestyle changes are analysed between the years 2000 and 2010 from three view points namely energy efficiency, increased leisure time and cost reduction. The impact of ICT on lifestyle changes and its effect on energy consumption are analyzed using a microscopic model. It was clarified that lifestyle change, including introduction of teleworking and e-commerce could result in lower energy consumption under a given model.
