Abstract
Multi-user augmented reality systems require excellent registration in order to allow cooperation among the users. In order to satisfy this need we have built a hybrid tracking system integrating magnetic and optical tracking. Prediction from the magnetic tracker allows for rather small search areas in the optical tracking subsystem. Our hybrid tracking system is faster than a standalone optical tracking system and outperforms a magnetic system in terms of accuracy and jitter
