Abstract :
In this paper, non-travelling wave solutions with three arbitrary functions, including the soliton-like solutions periodic form solutions and rational solutions, are obtained by using a improved extended tanh-function method to solve a compound KdV-Burgers equation with the help of Maple. This method can be applied to other higher-dimensional nonlinear partial differential equations.
