Abstract :
In the recent years there is a tremendous increase in the demand of telecommunication in voice, data and video applications. This is also true for mobile and Internet based services. WiMAX had played an important role in providing cheaper communications to users present in both cities and rural areas. Further WiMAX had played an important role to bridge the digital divide between the developed and under developed countries. WiMAX is the cheapest wireless technology based on the principle of point to multipoint wireless networking, which enables it to provide voice, broadband and video services to users. White spots in mobile WiMAX that is the spots where there is no coverage is the hot area of research. In this paper, a novel technique to overcome the problem of white spots has been presented. The technique presented is based on the idea of cognitive heterogeneous wireless networks. Simulation experiments have revealed that this technique works well to overcome the problem of white spots.
