Abstract :
Awareness of the need to manage chemical substances in a safe and reliable manner is growing around the world. However, in order to improve chemicals management, assessment and appropriate management of the total risk posed by potential hazards and exposure to chemical products throughout their life cycle is necessary rather than management of chemical substances in a conventional manner. From such a viewpoint, much attention is being given to the idea of Chemical Product Policy (CPP), which utilizes the concept of Integrated Product Policy (IPP) for managing chemicals. This paper describes the results of a preliminary study on, and challenges regarding, use of this method for managing the risks of chemical substances more safely and reliably.
