  • Abstract
    In-home pulmonary function testing and evaluation of pulmonary mechanics can be an effective tool for assessing the longitudinal progression of disease or effectiveness of treatment protocols. A low-cost spirometry system has been developed for use in the home. Preliminary tests used the proposed system to evaluate changes in lung volumes (i.e. vital capacity, inspiratory capacity, expiratory reserve volume, and tidal volume) in both sitting and supine postures
