Abstract
In the last years, a variety of concepts for usercentric systems have gained momentum. Mark Weiser´s vision of Ubiquitous Computing and the according research activities are good examples for this development. Elementary aspects of human-to-human communications and their consequences have to be considered during the development of user-eentric systems. The term ´user-centric´ implies that the services or a service framework have to sense particular user needs and act accordingly during the user interaction. Consequently, the utilization of ambient information is a must in future humanmachine interaction. Ambient information describes the context I the environment of the user at a certain moment in time. This paper introduces an ambient awareness model including an ambient information data model and its application in a corresponding user-centric service adaptation framework.
