  • Abstract
The effect of foreign investment on six pollutants such as industrial polluted water, and sulfur dioxide is investigated with the regression model. The result shows that there isn´t significantly negative correlation between the FDI and pollution emission, which is contrary to the popular hypothesis so called pollution haven. The environmental effect of FDI notably varies among different regions, which isn´t negative in East China, while which is negative in central region and in West China. Improving the quality of introducing FDI and strengthening environmental protection are the effective way to inducing environmental pollution of FDI.
