Abstract :
Spatial indexing is an important technique to retrieve spatial data. The spatial indices focus on the representation of spatial relationships. Some work has been done on indexing spatial relationships. The 2D-string is a famous approach. Another representation 2D-PIR can support the function of linear transformation in an image but the storage space is costly. Although the 2D-string approach is easy, there has been no discussion on the function of linear transformations based on the 2D-string. We propose a method to detect the effects of transformation for a 2D-string. We devote a reasoning method and a retrieval approach to detect the effects of linear transformation without decreasing the retrieval function and preserving the spatial reasoning. The effects of transformation include rotation and reflection
