Abstract
One-shot multiuser detectors in asynchronous CDMA (code division multiple access) systems are studied. This type of detector is shown to be near-far resistant, although only parts of the interfering symbols are estimated to conduct the multiuser detector for the desired signal. Performance of the one-shot detectors usually depends upon the delay distribution of users, which may result in some performance variation. However, by proper design of the PN (pseudonoise) sequences and the number of users in a system, the variation can be limited within a very small range
