Abstract
We have covalently attached bisphosphonates to commercial medical grade polyurethanes under mild conditions. Bisphosphonate modified polyether methanes show significantly diminished tendency to calcify as compared to control polyether methanes and thus are attractive candidates for synthetic heart valve applications
