Abstract :
Life cycle assessment (LCA) as method, large-scale public buildings which areas are over 20,000 square meters each in Hangzhou of hot summer and cold winter region as objects, the paper studies on the features and rules of CO2 emission and energy consumption. With three typical cases being selected among office, health care and campus buildings, variation of carbon emission indexes are calculated in three stages: construction, use and removal, then the impacts of structure, material, operation, architectural life and other factors on carbon emissions are also quantitatively researched on. Results show that the operation and construction phase of the total are the top two sources of CO2 emissions. Therefore, the structures and green materials for the new building design and energy-efficiency renovation including carbon sequestration for the existing building should be properly chosen and designed due to the purpose of energy-saving management.
