Abstract :
This paper reviews photonic devices and technology applications in microwave and millimetre wave systems. Four important applications are discussed: transmission of microwave signals by optical links, using of photonic devices for generation and controlling of microwave signals, principles of operation of phased array antennas with photonic transmission, and finally microwave measurements with optical techniques.
