Abstract :
This paper sets forth some of the basic legal elements a company should use to manage its intellectual property. Hopefully, this information will alert the reader to situations in which a skilled intellectual property attorney should be contacted. Unfortunately, the protection of a company´s intellectual property is often a result of “crisis management” as opposed to a carefully structured program of legal protection. To ensure that a company´s intellectual property receives timely and adequate protection, it should be subject to a sophisticated and organized program adopted and enforced by management. Management should devote its whole-hearted attention to ensure that such a program is implemented and followed by every employee of the company
