The use of an unified diagnostic approach to predict the operating deterioration of three-phase induction motors

The paper highlights the advantages of using not only one, but different diagnostic systems, in order to effectively predict the operating deterioration of three-phase induction motors in a way that is both much more reliable and convincing than the one resulting from each different strategy when used alone. Special focus is given to the use of Park´s vector approach. The criteria actually in use at Pego power station (Portugal), for the maintenance management of critical induction motors, is based on this unified diagnostics strategy
