Abstract
As the popularity of the content distribution network increases, several types of services use replicated servers that are geographically dispersed across the whole network. This paper describes a content routing algorithm based on the maximum network revenue function in the content distribution networks. Upon receiving a DNS request from a client in its domain, the DNS automatically returns the IP address of a content server available from an IP address pool according to the maximum network revenue including the routing metrics of network and the load information of the preferred content server. Simulation results show that our approach is much better than the DNS round robin and the DNS least load.
