Abstract
The upgrading of older steam turbine plant with modern technology has become an increasingly attractive way for utilities to increase efficiency and capacity. This paper describes one such upgrade, showing how advances in steam turbine technology have been successfully applied to both components and modules in a 660 MW steam turbine unit at Hunterston Power Station. The challenge of installing the modifications in a short outage time, and the solutions adopted to achieve it, are discussed
