Research 2.0: e-Learning Support Framework to Assist Research Degree Programmes

e-Learning has grown significantly in importance and popularity, however, current e-learning offerings and systems present no clear specific support for research programmes of study. This paper attempts to develop a new e-Learning support framework to assist research programmes in both, the management of the research process and the learning milestones of each stage. This new proposed system will connect learners, educators, administrators, and managers together through a clear management process while facilitating access to information about the programme, the process and learning resources. Different types of engagement with stakeholders were performed to gather the requirements specifications of the proposed system/framework. Microsoft Share Point Server 2007 was used as the development environment.
