Abstract
In this paper, we propose a novel encoding method for visual two-dimensional barcode based on statistics. According to the statistical result, we select some patterns possessing higher frequency as candidate patterns to denote information 1 and 0. Once the candidate patterns are determined, the visual two dimensional barcode is generated through pattern substitution with reference to the corresponding information sequence. Discussions on the barcode capacity and visual quality are also provided. Experimental results show that the produced visual barcode provides high information capacity while improving the visual quality.
