  • Abstract
This paper presents a novel control method to separate the inverter switching pattern optimization from induction motor´s torque and flux control. The optimization is defined in terms of common mode current reduction. The motor control is based on the calculation of desired phase currents with given torque and flux references. The common mode current reduction is achieved by neutral point voltage control using sliding mode pulse width modulation. Common mode current is eliminated without modifying the six-switch inverter.
