Abstract :
This paper presents a multi-target oriented optimal control strategy for FACTS devices named the intelligent predictive-evaluating control (IPEC) method. The novel control approach synthesizes advantages of the predictive control method and the inverse control system principle, and divides the procedure of determining the control signals of FACTS devices into two steps. The first step is to select the optimal output from all output candidates of FACTS devices, the second is to calculate the real control signals according to the selected output. The controller based on the IPEC applies the artificial neural network technology to set up power systems´ predictive model and utilizes the fuzzy reasoning method to solve the multi-target optimization problem. Its structure is also introduced in detail in this paper
