Abstract :
Modelling of high-frequency circuits and interconnects described by tabulated multi-port parameters has generated immense interest during recent years. In most cases, equivalent circuit models (ECM) are available to the designers, which correlate well with the measured parameters at low frequencies, however, deviate at higher frequencies. In order to address this difficulty, an efficient and automated algorithm was developed to identify frequency-dependent augmentations to the ECM, so as to correct for high-frequency errors. This paper presents an extension to this algorithm for passivity verification and compensation of each augmentation.
