Abstract :
One patient with clinical evidence of left type II Duane´s syndrome (DRS) and a bilateral alteration of the saccadic eye movements was submitted to bilateral electromyography (EMG). A paradoxical activity of the lateral rectus muscle during adduction was detected also in the sound eye. The eye movement alterations in the sound eye noticed in some cases of DRS could consequently be due to a bilaterality of the Syndrome, but with a monolateral clinical manifestation. In these cases EMG appears diriment
