Abstract :
The optical fiber pH sensor is based on absorption and transmission and reflection of indicator by oxygen hemoglobin dissociation curve. The fiber optic sensors subsystem must perform a number of specific tasks. It must deliver excitation energy for the active and reference wavelengths for the pH, pCO2 and pO2 sensors and it must accomplish this with a high radiometer efficiency via an optical fiber from the light source to the blood gases probe so that the maximum possible energy is delivered to each sensor. Imaging devices provide two fundamental parameters necessary to support the above applications over distance and time
