Abstract :
User Interface UI is an old subject, but is still a hot research topic. A lot of efforts were put into making the life of designers and authors of UI easier. Declarative UI languages were a major approach for defining and developing UI. The integration and implementation of a standardized presentation layer is the main focus of the work presented here. This paper presents some new development for our business application development framework XMAN. The improvements are related mainly to the presentation layer, aiming at a set of goals such as Standardization, Device-Independency, Platform-Independency and Abstraction. A good part of the paper is dedicated for discussing some important User Interface Declarative Languages UIDLs in order to select the best one that fits the goals.
