Investigation on Gain Bandwidth of Broadband Pump Optical Parametric Amplification

Abstract :
The parametric spectral gain bandwidth of nonlinear optical parametric amplification (OPA) based on broadband pump are investigated. Taking into account the monochromatic pump parametric bandwidth (BW) and the derivative of pump wavelength, we present a method to determine the parametric spectral BW based on broadband pump source. Mathematical expression to describe the parametric spectral BW based on broadband pump is achieved. Results show good accordance with simulations and experiments published. It is helpful for optimal design of OPAs and optical parametric oscillators (OPOs).
