Abstract :
Improved current-temperature-density (C-T-D ) sondes for oceanographic measurements are described. The sensors all have a very short time constant. For T, the time constant is 0.5 ms, the accuracy is 0.3 mK, and the resolution is 0.12 mK, and the measurements can all be repeated in 2-ms periods. The spatial resolution for C is 0.5 cm, the precision 0.001, and the resolution 0.0005. At present, the pressure sensor can reach a precision of about ±1.5 m between 0-600 bar with a resolution of ±30 cm
