Abstract
This paper presents an analysis through simulation study cases of a self-tuning controller used for the dual winded induction generator´s (DWIG) excitation control. The parameter´s estimator, is embedded into the control system, and uses the on-line least mean square error algorithm. There are performed several simulation scenarios in order to find out the most suitable pair of two parameter λ (least mean square error estimator´s forgetting factor) and p (control penalty factor related to the control law) that can deliver the best results, having in view the control performances (such as steady state regime error, overshoot and control settle time).
