Abstract
Recent advances in power electronics and telecommunications have become common in the use of control equipment containing technology information systems for improving comfort, access, and drive speed, acquiring management tools, information processing, among others for building and others installations. These technologies if applied are smart systems that can be utilized in homes, commerce, small industries, and large corporations. In this paper, the behavior of the soft starter and frequency inverter is investigated in smart system applications that are subject to poor electric grid feeder quality (low voltage power supply). Key laboratory measurements and evaluations are presented considering typical equipment (cooling, pumping, barriers access, among others). The input signal is analyzed and compared with the manufacturer data as well as the output signal delivered to the load by the frequency inverter.
