Abstract
An integral pulse frequency modulation (IPFM) model for physiological systems is studied with a periodically-varied threshold from the viewpoint of nonlinear dynamics. Some chaotic behaviours were observed in the simulation. The model may provide some explanations for complicated heart rhythms, especially some cardiac arrythymia
