Abstract :
This document presents the analysis of impedance, tension, and electricity variables facing impulse discharges on the guard cable in a transmission line, in which we consider different grounding systems modeled in software ATP/EMTP using the Distribution and Tensioning Factors method (DTF). The methodology is divided in four stages: tower model selection, equivalent circuit for the grounding system, modeling, and simulation in ATP/EMPT. Among the multiple conclusions, it is noted that for a grounding system with a 30 m counterweight in horizontal position to a depth of 30 cm it was registered a decrease on the grounding impedance and on the induced tensions in the isolator suspension arms.
