Abstract :
Fabricated a +3.3V single low-power CMOS limiting amplifier including the automatic threshold control (ATC) circuit with wide input range for asynchronous transfer mode-passive optical network (ATM-PON) system. The architecture of the limiting amplifier is the multistage feedforward type for high-speed response. Use of the ATC circuit in this work can eliminate DC offset due to devices and layout mismatch. This amplifier is fabricated in a standard +3.3V 0.35 μm CMOS technology and consumes 80mW. Overall gain is over 30dB to achieve the constant output voltage swing (200mVp-p). The chip size is 1.4×1.2mm2.
