Abstract
The torsional vibration model in main drive system of cold rolling mill is built with the consideration of nonlinear stiffness and nonlinear friction coefficient. The global sliding mode controller is designed for rolling mill drive system for rejecting plants with rolling parameters´ uncertainties, as well as a better tracking behavior. Simulation results show the validity of the nonlinear model and the strong robustness, good dynamic characteristic of control algorithms.
