Abstract :
A new method for revealing the diagnostic character of bowel sounds (BS) was applied on BS, recorded from controls and pre-confirmed patients with gastrointestinal dysfunction and de-noised using the WTST-NST filter. Experimental results showed that the technique is suitable in discriminating the intestinal pathologies using only the information provided by the BS. The non-invasiveness and the effectiveness of the method along with its fast and easy implementation provide a feasible tool for clinical evaluation of BS
