Abstract :
Spatial reuse TDMA is an access scheme for multi-hop radio networks. The idea is to increase capacity by reusing time slots when possible. A time slot can be reused when the radio units are geographically separated such that small interference is obtained. Of course, spatially reusing the channel resource can be applied to other access schemes such as FDMA and CDMA. Here, we present an algorithm for spatial reuse in a TDMA framework, considering the total interference in the network. In multi-hop networks, the traffic load can vary considerably from link to link. The algorithm presented can be modified to assign more time slots to links with heavy traffic loads. Our simulation results show that the average delay can be decreased considerably by taking the traffic load into consideration in a STDMA scheme and by modeling the total interference in the network
