Abstract :
High-power measurements were made on a variety of K-band switches in a simulated space environment to test their susceptibility to breakdown. Measurements were made at 18 GHz and power levels up to 8 W. No evidence of breakdown was found from atmospheric pressure to below 10-7 Torr. Similar measurements to be performed on Ka-band switches at the 5-W level at a frequency of 33 GHz are also discussed
