Abstract :
Utilities, operating authorities and reliability councils representing a majority of the eastern electric power interconnection are working together to advance the state of the art in power system monitoring and to share information deemed to be valuable in enhancing the reliability of the bulk power grid. The eastern interconnection phasor projects (EIPP) is a department of energy (DOE) initiative to deliver immediate value of phasor technology to the eastern interconnection (El) participants. The project depends upon the participation of a broad array of stakeholders including manufacturers, software providers, the operating/reliability organizations, academia, government, the IEEE and other standards bodies, and more.
