Abstract :
Electricity market is designed and operated based on secure power system operation. Cost of power system security is factored into the market clearing process of the standard market design (SMD) implementation in New England wholesale electricity market. Market experiences on congestion management and pricing in day-ahead and real-time energy markets will be reviewed. Challenges on cost-effective constraint enforcement in future market development and design will be discussed
