Abstract
The soft-switching technique is attractive for the use in the unity power factor AC/DC power converter in view of the EMC requirement for low switching noise. One hard-switched boost PFC and two related soft-switched power converters have been investigated by PSpice simulation and circuit experiments. The advantages, disadvantages and special restriction of applying soft-switching in PFC are discussed
