            Abstract :
Summary form only given. Our concern is to exploit user behaviour in the interaction between humans and computers. By doing this we expect to move towards adaptive human-computer interaction. The work reported addresses the coordinated use of user behaviours and meta-data generated during interactive computer-mediated information searches. The context used to develop this idea is that of searching the Web for information. This work is in the spirit of the Okapi Projects (Robertson, 1997; Beaulieu, 1997), and the TREC Interactive Track Matrix (Lagergren and Over, 1998), but differs in that access to user behaviours is completely unobtrusive
