Abstract
A millimeter wave antenna operating on the effect of surface to volume wave transformation is presented. Physically the antenna of the kind employs the plan electromagnetic wave diffraction by various periodic scatterers. Structurally it represents a source of nonuniform surface waves and a diffraction grating in the source field. The specialists joining the IRE NASU have gained enough research and development experience to produce various mm wave antennas of airborne, ground-based, scanning, single- and multi-beam functions.
