Abstract
An optical 8×8 interchip interconnect with 2.5 Gbit/s-per-channel data transmission over a length of 50 cm is demonstrated. The interconnection approach is based on 125 μm-plastic optical fibres (POF) which are aligned at a pitch of 250 μm in two dimensions by precision plastic parts
