  • Abstract
A two-dimensional sheet model of cardiac tissue was used to study the effects of changes in calcium channel conductance on the stability of reentrant activity. The sheet is modeled as a set of parallel, continuous and uniform cables transversely interconnected by a brick-wall arrangement of fixed resistors. Reentrant activity was induced using a cross-stimulation protocol. The reentry observed in sheets in which the calcium channel conductance was reduced exhibited a more stable reentrant rhythm
